Coffee Thermoblock Failed to Reach Required Temperature
This error message indicates the coffee Thermoblock is not reaching the required temperature to brew coffee. The following parts may be the cause of the problem:
Possible Faulty Parts:
Fix:
The Thermal Sensor on the Thermoblock is defective. The Thermal Sensor monitors the temperature and sends the readings to the CPU. The sensor failed to record the required temperature needed to activate the brew cycle. Furthermore, if the machine is taking longer to heat up, it is an indication the sensor may be failing, even without an error 1 message displayed.
Visually check the temperature sensor and contact pins for corrosion. The contact that connects to the boiler will have a coffee colored bubble significantly protruding from the connection if the sensor is nearing malfunction. Replace the temperature sensor. Also, check the OHMs reading to ensure there is a connection.
The Over-Temperature Protection is defective or blown. This fuse is a shut off mechanism when the Thermoblock exceeds the max temperature, or there is a power surge during the brew process.
Visually check the fuse and contact pins for corrosion. Also, check the OHMs reading to ensure there is a connection. It is recommended to replace the temperature sensor and fuse.
The Coffee Thermoblock is defective. Over time, the Thermoblock may become clogged with scale, preventing it from reaching the required temperature.
Replace the thermoblock, sensors and fuses.
The Power Board is defective. The board is failing to receive the necessary signal that the coffee thermoblock has reached the required temperature to initiate the brew process.
Replace the PCB; however, it is more economical to buy a new or refurbished machine.
